Under the Kurrajong Tree – Did Not Suck

Can life in the country get any better?  It had rained heavily on the May day that Kristin Hersh came to play. She came to be part of the The Cad Factory’s Under the Kurrajong Tree, which is usually held, well, under the Kurrajong tree at Vic & Sarah’s home, The Cad Factory.  The rain came down though so the whole show was moved to the Boree Creek (population 200ish) Hall. For Kristin was at the beginning of her Don’t Suck, Don’t Die Australian tour. Her songs were intermingled with readings from her books: muscular, biting and lyrical – a powerful and honest performer.

Vic and Sarah McEwan had created a fresh line-up for Grace Before Meals, and gifted us with loose, languid, pure musicality.I’ve waited
a long time to see them – years – and it was good.
